Affron Awarded New Mood Support Patent

Certified Informed Ingredient affron's saffron extract has been awarded a US patent for its "proven positive role in low mood support". 

The new patent protects the proprietary composition and dosages that make affron effective. According to clinical studies, the ingredient proves to be successful in relieving stress, improving mood, inducing positive feelings, and enhancing sleep quality. "Affron's mood-enhancement capabilities are owed largely to its role in the inhibition of the reuptake of mood-related neurotransmitters, according to the broader spectrum of scientific literature," said Alberto Espinel, Head of Strategic R&D in Active and Functional Natural Ingredients for Pharmactive.

The patent coincides with affron being certified by Informed Ingredient. All certified ingredients are tested regularly for banned substances by LGC’s world-leading anti-doping laboratory, using ISO 17025 accredited methods. Supplement companies who see the Informed Ingredient logo can be assured the certified ingredient has undergone a rigorous screening programme for banned substances in sport and is safer for use.
